Preacher’s Kid

Preacher’s Kid is a 2010 film directed by Christian Stan Foster, loosely based on the parable of the Prodigal Son.
Original songs and score are made by recording artist and music producer Tim Miner. The film was written and directed by Stan Foster, and stars LeToya Luckett, Kiki Sheard, Durrell Babbs and Clifton Powell.
The film was released in cinemas on 29 January 2010.
Plot
Raised by a parent controller, a preacher’s widow, Angela King (LeToya Luckett), runs off with an actor in a touring gospel play hoping that this land of his successful career of their dreams.
But Angie soon learns the harsh realities of life as an actor is not sleeping. Angie goes home as the prodigal daughter for the father who has always loved. “Our story revolves around the central character of Angie, a beautiful woman, but innocent, 23. She is the daughter of a well respected pastor, who is the pillar of the small, family and community in Augusta, Georgia, where he has spent his entire life.
As the only woman in the life of his father (his mother died when she was young), which tends to the needs of her father: she takes her father’s asthma, is Mass three times a week, carries out missions of the church, and sings in the church choir … basically, his whole life revolves around the church, and his father.
It has yet to experience life on itself, and frankly, she feels that life is passing by. One day, a journey, gospel-music-play (ALA Tyler Perry) descends to the city and then sneak away from the house to see the play, she is fascinated by the male protagonist of the series, Devlin, a loudmouth, singing soul, ex-R & B heartthrob, who inspires want to join the traveling road show. After an impromptu audition where she sings her heart for the promoter of music, is offered the opportunity to become a substitute for the female lead.
Against the wishes of his father, joins the series, leaving behind his life of security, friendship and parental love, to explore the world and experience life as a young woman. She is seduced by romance and Devlin and begins to see the world outside of Georgia.
Just as she falls for the soft-spoken Devlin and women lost their innocence, things suddenly take a turn for the worst. He starts to abuse her physically and mentally. She discovered that many of the other women in the work are not friends at all and most importantly, begin to doubt their own worth. With the awareness that he has left his real friends back in Georgia and his only family, her father, she has nowhere and nobody to turn to.
She is forced to fall further and further into the abyss and lose their sense of purpose and more importantly, their faith. Her two best friends who are concerned about their welfare will pay an unannounced visit to show that remains the love and care for her and let her know that she has a life and a place to go where people still love and care for her. Although she knows to be true friends, his pride and stubbornness will not let you back with his tail between his legs. This only makes things worse for her, the pressures of the promoter to give him his chance of stardom, so she can show that it is worth all the world. Unfortunately, she ends up in a fight with the developer who hired his services and to end immediately.
After she is fired from the play that embarrassed itself and is lost in this world of spiritual and emotional betrayal, performing hits from her … she has to go home. The question is: is forgiveness and redemption or condemnation of his friends and most importantly … of his beloved father.
